Remember your first day of school after your summer vacation? Didn't you always have to write an essay on "What I Did on My Vacation"?
This is our 2nd year of doing a grown-up version of this time-honored tradition, with a few changes from last year's competition. We've put a beaded spin on it, combining the memories of the summer's fun with a fund raising effort. We're sponsoring Jody Eagler in her effort to raise funds for her participation in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. (Come by and see the cute booklet she made from photos of the 2009 3-Day!)
To show off your summer creation, bring it in to the store with a small entry fee of $10. For ONE $10 fee, you may enter up to 5 items - if you've been REALLY busy beading all summer. Every dollar of the entry fees go toward Jody's fund raising goal. Items must be brought in by no later than November 1. They do NOT have to have been made with supplies bought here at AZ Bead Depot, though we would appreciate your shopping here!
All items will be given an ID number and will be displayed in a secure display case for the duration of the contest. From November 1 through November 7, customers will vote on their favorite pieces. On November 8th, at 1:00 pm, the winners (the 3 pieces with the most votes) will be announced. In addition, of the votes for First Prize, a name will be drawn and that person will also win a prize. Items will be on display through November 15th to show our support of Jody and the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
